About
I’m Claudia Lobdell, a photographer based in New York City. Originally from North Carolina, I earned my BFA in Photography from Pratt Institute, starting my studies at their upstate campus, Munson, in Utica.
My practice is diverse, spanning digital and film photography, as well as ongoing experiments with Super8. I’m interested in creative concepts and enjoy exploring different mediums and approaches within the art world. While I work primarily with digital photography, I value the process and perspective that comes from working across formats.
Travel and connecting with new communities are central to my work. I’m driven by a genuine interest in learning about other people and telling their stories. Many of my projects are rooted in spending time in unfamiliar places and building relationships, aiming to document moments and experiences that feel authentic.
Beyond photography, I have a strong interest in a variety of visual media and regularly engage with different forms, whether in photo, video, or other art mediums.
